I am so excited to be sharing this project! I created a Game-Ready Environment from start to finish, including working off of my own concept and references. At the core of this piece is a high-fidelity modular kit that built up the architecture of the Sailor's Entryway. One of the highlights of this piece is the fully procedural oil-painting filter made in substance designer that allowed me to create 17 different painting variations for the space, complete with customizable parameters. For the curtains' cloth sim I used marvelous designer, and built up my familiarity with alembic meshes. The actual material is fully opaque, I used a number of in-engine techniques to emulate translucency while maintaining performance. You can see the wide range of techniques used to build up this scene in my Material Highlight breakdown. A personal favorite part of the process for me was the ability to create my most detailed substance designer tiling textures and trim sheets to date. A huge thank you to everyone who gave me feedback along the way!
